Every year, Council calls for nominations for the Manningham Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year awards. These awards are presented on Australia Day 26 January each year to local residents who have made an outstanding contribution to the community.
The Awards are provided by the Australia Day Committee (Victoria) and are administered by local government authorities throughout Victoria on behalf of the Committee.
Any field of endeavour/performance may be recognised by the awards. This includes, but is not limited to, contributions in fields such as community service, environment, sports, arts and education.
Nominations for 2017 Manningham Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year awards are now open.
Please read the Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year 2017 Criteria (49.19 KB) and nominate using the the Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year 2017 Nomination Form (48.67 KB).
People nominated for the awards must:
- be an Australian citizen and live, work, volunteer or study in the City of Manningham.
- be aged at least 27 years old for Citizen of the Year, and under 27 years of age for Young Citizen of the Year, at 26 January in the year of the award.
- have made a noteworthy contribution to the Manningham community in the past year, or provided outstanding service over several years
