When your baby is born the hospital will advise the council's Maternal and Child Health Service.
The administration team will then call you to arrange a suitable date and time for an appointment, usually in your own home.
If you have recently moved to Manningham and have children aged under four, call Maternal Child Health';s centralised numbers on 9840 9199 or 9840 9188, Monday - Friday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm.
These groups are offered to first time parents with new babies. A range of topics are discussed at the sessions which are held once a week, for six weeks.
An invitation will be sent to you, or you can contact your MCH Nurse for more information.
- Your child's “My Health and Development” booklet
- A change of clothes for your baby
- A towel or bunny rug for the scales
- A spare nappy
- A plastic bag to take home a dirty nappy
It is important to keep your regular appointments, even as your child gets older, to detect any problems and organise appropriate follow up care as soon as possible.
If you have any concerns between visits, please call the centralised numbers 9840 9188 or 9840 9199.
