Residential Noise

We all make noise, whether we are talking to others, playing music, entertaining, working around the house or just going about our daily business.

What is enjoyable to one person may be a nuisance to another.

Too much noise can reduce a person’s quality of life and in extreme cases, even destroy it.

Council recommends discussing noise issues with your neighbour first. On many occasions, the neighbour does not even know that a nuisance is being caused and the issue can be resolved quickly and diplomatically.

To report noise in our neighbourhood, use our online service request form or call Council on 9840 9333.

For more information about residential noise, see EPA Victoria.
