Artist Talk with David Wadelton

This event has been postponed and will be rescheduled as an online event at a later date.

As part of the Manningham Art Gallery exhibition Empty Streets and Stacked Chairs join David Wadelton for a discussion on capturing Manningham during lockdown.  Wadelton, renowned for his depictions of suburban life, will also discuss his two other recent photographic series, Suburban Baroque and Small Business.

Suburban Baroque, published in 2019, depicts the interior character of homes of Melbourne's working-class northern suburbs, iconically the destination of choice for many post-war immigrants from Europe.

Small Business which will be published later this year, looks at the small but enduring family-run businesses that are fading away, often tucked away on suburban streets.

Bookings essential.

All visitors to the gallery will be required to register their attendance via QR Code upon arrival and comply with current COVID-19 guidelines, including social distancing and the wearing of face masks when social distancing cannot be practiced.
