Manningham is taking part in the cleaning and sanitisation blitz that’s happening across Victoria.

Teams employed through Working for Victoria will be sanitising local hand rails, bins, seats, traffic light buttons and more over the next few weeks.

Some of the areas you may see these teams out and about in Manningham include main roads, shopping strips, parks and other public open spaces.

Why is the blitz happening?

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we want everyone to know that our local streets in Manningham are being carefully cleaned for your safety, it is also providing jobs to many people who need them.

The blitz was announced by the Victorian Government earlier this month as part of its $500 million Working for Victoria initiative.

What is being cleaned as part of the blitz?

The teams will be focusing on hard surfaces in public spaces, shopping strips, parks and more. Teams will be sanitising:

  • hand rails
  • seating
  • bins
  • traffic light buttons, signs and poles
  • bicycle stands or other street furniture

Facilities that are currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions are not included in the cleaning blitz.
