Children of all ages and abilities can connect with nature and move among the tree tops in a proposed play space upgrade along the Warrandyte River Reserve.
A concept plan for the play space has been developed, as part of stage two of the Lions Park masterplan upgrade, and is now open for community feedback.
Manningham’s newly elected Mayor, Cr Andrew Conlon said stage one of the masterplan upgrade is almost complete.
“Works have been progressing well over the last five months and are set to be completed by December,” he said.
“Stage two of the masterplan includes a major upgrade and expansion to the existing Federation Playspace, a new shelter, barbecue and picnic area, and an art project.
“The proposed play space is inspired by the local environment and the new wildlife bridge crossing to be completed in stage one of the masterplan,” Cr Conlon said.
Local residents and visitors to the play space are invited to have their say and provide input to the final design.
Concept plans and video modelling of the proposed play space is currently available online at yoursay.manningham.vic.gov.au/lions-park.
Consultation will close at 5.00pm, Friday 18 December.
Works on stage of the Lions Park upgrade are anticipated to begin in late 2021 and completed in 2022.
