Manningham Matters - 19 June 2020
Message from our Mayor and Councillors
We are now seeing the return of many daily activities and services we have missed during COVID-19 restrictions, although with limitations and health precautions in place.
Schools have resumed classroom learning, restaurants and cafes have reopened to limited numbers and we’re seeing the reopening of many services, social events, fitness, sport and recreation options in our community. I know there have been many warm family reunions and social occasions, now that we are able to have gatherings of up to 20 people at once.
This week we will hold our first virtual citizenship ceremony to officially welcome our newest Australians to the community. In this latest edition of Manningham Matters, we have an interview with one Manningham resident who will become an Australian citizen this week.
Our Be Kind Manningham campaign has been resonating with people all over our city. You may have noticed vibrant colourful stickers and posters popping up all over Manningham, encouraging you to Be Kind. This special campaign aims to encourage everyone in our community to be kind to others, be kind to those most in need at this time, and be kind to yourself. I encourage you to watch and share the video we have made and see how we can all work together and continue to support each other.
