National Reconciliation Week - Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Join us at MC Square and Doncaster Library for a special evening for Reconciliation Week 2019 Grounded in Truth: Walk Together with Courage.

Begin the evening at Manningham Art Gallery with a viewing of the exhibition Grounded in Truth, before moving to Doncaster Library for a screening of The Warrigal Creek Massacre. This film tells the story of the Warrigal Creek massacre of 1843 in Gippsland where as many as 150 Gunai Kurnai children, women and men were killed by a group of European colonisers known as the Highland Brigade.

After the film there will be a discussion panel including the artist Richard Young and film co-producer Lisa Gye who will reflect on the film and reconciliation.
