The Victoria Street playspace is currently closed for construction works. It will reopen in mid-July 2024.

Set among the tranquil walking tracks, families won’t want to leave this adventurous playground. Among the favourites is our playful rock feature, and river bed channel with water play gates in the warmer months.

Victoria Street playspace upgrade

We're upgrading one of our most loved playgrounds, Victoria Street Playground in Ruffey Lake Park.

What's included in the upgrade?

The upgrade will include:

  • a giant basket swing
  • lookout tower and slide
  • rope balance circuit
  • all-abilities spinner
  • an expanded sand and water play area
  • more seating and plants.

When will it be done?

Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-March 2024 and will take around four months to complete, depending on weather conditions. Construction will generally occur between 7.00am and 5.00pm on weekdays.

A portion of the lower carpark near the toilets will be used as a construction compound. At times traffic or pedestrians may be redirected to allow access to the construction site. Any detours will be clearly signed.

The playspace will be closed for the duration of the works, however the toilets, picnic shelters and the flying fox will remain open.

Other playspaces at Ruffey Lake Park will still be open including The Boulevard and Church Road North.
