Manningham City Council is proposing to rename the section of Henry Street that abuts Clancys Lane. It has become necessary to rename this relatively small section of road due to recent residential development on the abutting land.

The area impacted by the renaming is as follows:

The following name is proposed:

Bloom Street – The Bloom family were local fruit growers in the Doncaster area in the early to mid 1900’s. The Street name ‘Bloom’ also creates a link to the Morrison Brothers Nursery that was situated opposite Henry Street for more than 30 years.

Members of the public can provide feedback on the naming proposal or submit alternate name nominations by one of the following methods:

  • Phone - 9840 9210
  • Mail – Manningham City Council PO Box 1 Doncaster Vic 3108
  • Email – governanceteam@manningham.vic.gov.au

Any alternate name submissions must comply with naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory requirements for nominating roads, features and localities – 2016.

All submissions must be received by 31 October 2019.

Manningham City Council has been unable to locate existing family members to seek permission to use the proposed name and calls for consent from the family or requests family contact details from the community.
