World Leprosy Day

In India over one million people are living with the physical and emotional scars of leprosy. The prejudice surrounding the disease means that many have been outcast by their families, communities, schools and workplaces. Over 100 laws around India discriminate against people affected by leprosy.

Dr Mary Verghese, executive director of The Leprosy Mission Trust India, will be presenting on the the current situation of those living with leprosy in India. Dr Verghese's presentation will include future actions to overturn the prejudice and discriminatory laws, as well as how you can help the cause.
