Leisure management provider Belgravia Leisure has been awarded the tender to manage and operate Aquarena Aquatic and Leisure Centre (Aquarena) commencing 1 July 2018.

Aquarena is Manningham Council’s only aquatic and leisure facility and is valued at $45 million, following a recent $22 million redevelopment.

Manningham Council CEO Warwick Winn said that following the detailed tender procedure, Belgravia Leisure demonstrated a strong understanding of customer service, programming, and meeting the community and Council’s needs.

“Manningham’s vision for recreation is a healthier, more active community, which participates in a diverse range of recreational activities regardless of age, gender, ability and cultural background,” Mr Winn said.

“We’re confident that Belgravia Leisure will deliver a high standard of service and innovation at Aquarena that will provide the best outcome for our community.

“The Manningham community and visitors to the centre will benefit from a diverse breadth of programs, an in-house GP and allied health area, extensive application of technology and improved efficiencies,” he said.

Belgravia Leisure has over 40 years’ experience managing 130 aquatic and leisure facilities across Australia and New Zealand.

They are also very experienced in the transition process, so patrons won’t be disrupted by the change in management.

The current contractor, YMCA Manningham, has managed the centre since 1992.

“We thank YMCA Manningham for their commitment to Aquarena and our community over the past 26 years,” he said.

“They have provided exceptional service during their time managing the facility and we appreciate their support through our recent redevelopment.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with YMCA Manningham across the other Manningham facilities they manage on our behalf,” Mr Winn said.
