A proposed new Council Meeting Procedure Law for Manningham Council is currently on public exhibition.
The proposed Local Law aims to regulate and control the procedures governing the following:
- Conduct of Council meetings
- The election of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Council representatives on external bodies
- The use of Council’s seal
- The administration of the Council’s powers and functions.
The existing Meeting Procedure Law was made by Council in November 2005.
Under the proposed Local Law, meeting practices will remain largely the same, with some necessary changes required to bring Council in line with current legislation.
