U3A Manningham continued its busy curriculum of courses and classes this year despite COVID-restrictions.

This year classes moved onto Zoom and other video-conferencing platforms, with as many as 60 classes a week happening online so members were still able to see each other, share ideas and exercise together. Members were kept up-to-date with a new weekly email communication, a newsletter and U3A also ran a photography competition entitled “Our Wonderful World” featuring members’ best travel photos and photos from around Manningham.

U3A Manningham is an educational organisation located in The Pines Learning and Activity Centre in Doncaster East. It provides educational, cultural, physical and social opportunities catered to the needs of retired and semi-retired people, with tutors working on a volunteer basis to keep course fees as low as possible. Members can join and choose from a vast array of courses, such as learning a new language, computer and digital photography courses, or strength training, ballroom dancing or yoga.

U3A Manningham is now readying its 2021 curriculum, with in-person classes returning from the first week of February 2021 – strictly in accordance with the Government regulations and with the agreement of the relevant tutors.

U3A has also decided to waive the 2021 membership fee for 2020 members, due to the limited number of physical classes they could attend this year.
