Next month we are collaborating with Leisure Networks and Park Orchards BMX Club to launch the Power 2 Pedal program which has been specially designed to help get more kids and teens with autism riding their bikes and including active transport into their weekly routine.

This program enables kids and teens who haven’t yet mastered the art of balancing on a bike or riding a bike the opportunity to learn these skills in a inclusive, welcoming and safe environment.

The program will help to build the confidence of participants and their parents/guardians and support workers - providing them with the tools and ability to practice riding outside the program and overall building more physical activity into their daily lifestyles.

Not only will participants learn to ride a bike in a fun, friendly and encouraging environment, they will also get the opportunity to meet new friends, improve their coordination and build their confidence.

This program has been made possible by funding from the Australian Government Department of Social Services Strong and Resilient Communities grant.
