With gyms, pools and sport facilities closed during lockdown, our choice of ways to participate in physical activity are limited. However, bike riding is one activity that is not. Perhaps now is the time to pull out your old bicycle from the back of the shed and get pedalling.

Manningham has some great tracks where you can ride your bike safely.

Riding a bike is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of serious health diseases such as obesity, diabetes, arthritis, cancers, heart problems and mental health issues.

Cycling is a low impact exercise, making it an activity that can enjoyed by absolutely everyone, young and old. Better yet, cycling can be performed at a low or high intensity and you have control over the pace.

The feeling of adventure and thrill that comes with riding up and down hills, through beautiful green scenery with the wind in your hair, is what makes cycling the perfect physical activity during these difficult times.
