Explore the velvety goodness and immediate colour satisfaction of pastels. Our tutor Linda will guide beginners through the basics in this series of four online sessions.

Have fun and discover your creativity by learning techniques, colour, tone, perspective and much more.

Course dates and times:

Session 1: Monday 1 March, 10.00am to 11.30am

Session 2: Monday 15 March, 10.00am to 11.30am

Session 3: Monday 22 March, 10.00am to 11.30am

Session 4: Monday 29 March, 10.00am to 11.30am

Materials required

Course sessions will be run over video conferencing software Zoom, available as an application or accessible via some web browsers. You will receive an email with the Zoom link prior to your first session.

Materials you'll need:

  • Variety of soft pastels - you can start with a student's set and then add to it
  • Smooth, sturdy backing board
  • Pastel paper (e.g. Canson or Colourfix)
  • Apron
  • Sturdy easel (tabletop or standalone)
  • Charcoal
  • Bulldog clips or masking tape to hold paper to board
