The Ajani Community Hub Partnership Project - Living and Learning @ Ajani is a finalist for the Victorian Government’s 2016 Learn Local Awards that recognize and celebrate Victorians who have made a significant impact on community education.

Living and Learning @ Ajani has been nominated in the ‘Excellence in Creating Local Solutions’ category.

The initiative is part of Manningham Council’s Live Well in Bulleen project to enhance services and increase community connectedness while improving local access to services by co-locating health, legal and community support services at the community house.

The project has also initiated a café project to engage unemployed people in hospitality and pre-employment training.

The Ajani Community Hub delivers low cost programs, courses, activities and events for people of all ages, interests and abilities. As a Learn Local organization, it also offers pre-accredited programs supported by funding through the State Government’s Adult, Community and Further Education.

The winners of the Learn Local Awards will be announced on Thursday 8 September.

Minister for Training and Skills, Steve Herbert, recently announced the finalists for the awards that recognize the contribution to training made by Victoria’s more than 300 Learn Local organizations offering pre-accredited and accredited training.
