Street furniture can include:
Funding for outdoor dining, use of tables and chairs on footpaths is from the Local Councils Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Package (LGA stream). Any approvals for permits will have fees waived.
There’s still fees for the display of goods or A-frame signs. You’ll receive an invoice before the issuing of a permit.
We have a duty to make sure pedestrians are safe. That’s why traders need to maintain minimum distance of clear footpath from the property line.
You can’t place objects such as moveable advertising signs, goods and street furniture against the property line or shop front.
These rules allow people using the footpath to walk through the area safely.

Larvrin & Lawrence Orthodontics in Templestowe was announced as the overall winner at this year’s Manningham Business Excellence Awards.
The glamorous awards were held at a gala dinner at the Manningham Civic Centre on the 15 November with businesses across Manningham showcasing their strengths and celebrating their points of differences in a relaxed, end of year celebration.
Manningham Council Mayor Cr Andrew Conlon said Manningham had more than 12,500 businesses, which contributed more than $3 billion to the gross regional product.
“A significant portion of these businesses are service based including retail, tourism and home based businesses,” he said.
This year thirty nine businesses were nominated and assigned a business mentor to support their application. An independent panel of judges then visited a shortlisted selection of businesses and assessed their applications.
Other Business Excellence Award winners include, Altair Restaurant, Fish & Buger Co Indulgence Medi Spa, JJ Ryan Consulting Lavrin and Lawrence Orthodontics and Zero 95 Pizza Bar.
Highly Commended awards were awarded to Fernwood Bulleen, Helloworld Travel Lower Templestowe, Organic Origins, Phillip Webb, Simply Natural Therapies and Speedy Shower Screens.
Judges’ Encouragement awards were given to Power Plant Café and Quest Doncaster.

If your event impacts traffic conditions or parking at a Council owned venue, you will need a traffic management plan. This needs to be approved before event approval can be supplied.

You might need to pay a bond if your event is on Manningham land. The amount for a bond ranges from $50 to $5,000. The bond amount will depend on the size and nature of the event.

The 2013/14 Economic Development Strategy Annual Report has been endorsed by Manningham Council and highlights how Council has supported and encouraged the local business community in the past 12 months.
The Annual Report is a summary of the major work undertaken by Council in this area from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014 and includes the establishment of regional partnerships to create opportunities for regional economic and tourism growth.
Manningham Mayor, Cr Jim Grivokostopoulos said that the Manningham Economic Development Strategy aims to generate resilient, sustainable and vibrant community groups.
"There has been a real focus on home-based business and small to medium enterprises, which aims to position Manningham as a great place to learn, live, play and work."
