If your bin collection day is on a Friday, then you live in a designated high-fire risk area.
We postpone waste collection in these areas on catastrophic days - this is not the same as total fire ban day. If this occurs, leave your bins out until they are collected.
Place your bins out the night before and bring them in by the end of your collection day.

We offer a collection service for residents who, due to frailty, disability, medical or mobility conditions, are unable to place their bins out for the weekly waste collection.
When food and garden waste is sent to landfill it decomposes without oxygen (anaerobically). This process produces odorous gases and methane, which has a global warming potential 25 times greater than carbon dioxide.
Also our garbage bins contain approximately 50% food and garden waste. That means composting your food you can cut your rubbish in half.
To assist you to reduce your waste and start composting, we offer a range of discounted composting products through Compost Community. Manningham residents can receive 40% off the recommended retail price, including free delivery.

To start a new waste service, you'll need to choose from one of the six options below.
If you already have a waste service with us, you can order additional bins. You may also swap the sizes of your bins.

When you start a waste service with us you can choose which size bins you want to suit your needs. If your needs change then you can swap your bin sizes.

There is a once off administration and delivery fee of $71.00 for swapping bin sizes plus an adjustment to your annual waste service charge. View cost of bins.

Hard rubbish collections are for unwanted household items. All items must be:
lighter than 50kg (must be able to be lifted by two people)
are no longer than 1.5m in length, and
fit the description below.
Furniture
Tables, chairs, bookshelves, couches and lounge suites (joinery or cabinetry cannot be collected).
Mattresses
Maximum two mattresses per standard collection.
Electronics, appliances and white goods.
Fridges or freezers with doors removed.
Washing machines, dishwashers, ovens and dryers.
Electronic waste (e-waste)
TV’s, VCR’s, electrical equipment and stereos.
Carpet and underlay
Must be tied (max 1.5 metres long).
Car tyres
Maximum of four tyres (4WD and truck tyres cannot be collected) per standard collection.
Car parts and tools
Glass
Shower screens, glass top tables or windows
(securely wrapped and marked as glass).
Hot water service and air conditioning units
Paint tins
Must be empty with lids removed.

You can make a report online, in person or over the phone.
If there is any danger to the public or public space, please call us immediately on 9840 9333.
We'll send your report to the relevant team who will attend the location to assess the items and take appropriate action.
If you see someone littering from a vehicle or near the vehicle they are using, you can report to EPA. For more information about reporting litter from vehicles, visit the EPA website.

An infringement, also known as either a fine or a penalty notice, is issued when a law or regulation is broken to help protect the rights, amenity and well-being of the Manningham community.

You can now return eligible beverage containers for a refund. Reverse vending machines and over the counter and depot refund points are operating in Manningham.

Reverse vending machines are automated, purpose-built and can capture up to 10,000 eligible containers each day. They can be used from 7.00am to 8.00pm daily and include sound proofing and external lighting.

Over the counter refund points are located within local businesses and organisations, once you hand over your containers, they will count them and provide a refund.

The Victorian Government has set up Detox your home - a free service to help you safely dispose of your toxic, unwanted household chemical and hazardous waste.
The Victorian Government has set up Detox your home - a free service to help you safely dispose of your toxic, unwanted household chemical and hazardous waste. They offer two ways to dispose this type of waste:
Mobile drop off days
Accepts a wide range of household chemicals on scheduled weekends.
Register for the next event near you
Permanent drop off sites
Accepts a limited range of household chemicals and hazardous waste.
Find the nearest permanent drop off site.
Some hazardous material like lead flashing can be disposed of at metal recyclers.
Asbestos can only be removed by a licensed asbestos remover.
Always take precautions when handling hazardous materials. Visit the EPA website for advice on how to get rid of construction and demolition waste.
Participants will learn how to make and maintain beeswax wraps for keeping food fresh and hygienic without the use of single-use plastics such as cling-wrap.

Bio Gro is the facility which will recycle Manningham’s food and garden waste into compost as part of our Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) service.
This is a great chance to see first-hand how your food and garden waste will be processed and ask any questions along the way.
