Home Harvest Manningham is a monthly home gardening seminar series that will teach you how to grow your own delicious fresh food at home.

What you will learn

The seminars cover all aspects of edible gardening, and include food, seed and plant swaps.

The series will guide you through:

  • successfully growing in Manningham’s soil and climatic conditions
  • growing and harvesting produce that is seasonally appropriate
  • growing systems that use less water, energy and chemical inputs than crops grown in large scale.

Benefit of growing your own produce

Growing your own fresh produce at home:

  • helps reduce food miles and eliminate energy associated with packaging and transport
  • increases physical and mental wellbeing
  • improves diet and nutritional outcomes
  • provides greater connection with the local community through a common activity and purpose
  • is cost saving in a time of rising food prices
  • contributes to the conservation of heritage seed
  • is fun, educational, rewarding and achievable.

When:
Seminars run on the first Wednesday of the month from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.

The community food, seed and garden swap takes place at 6.15pm, 15 minutes before each session.

Bookings are not required.
