We’re redeveloping the memorial site at Templestowe Memorial Reserve to honor our service people, improve the accessibility, reflect a more contemporary design and expand the reflection area.

The redevelopment plans include:

  • upgraded hard surfaces
  • additional seating areas
  • enhanced landscaping
  • the installation of a new memorial feature.

Where is it?

Corner High Street and Foote Street Templestowe Lower.

Why is it needed?

The memorial site requires an upgrade to enhance its amenity value and accessibility.

When will the works happen?

The redevelopment will commence after ANZAC Day 2024 and will be completed by late September 2024 (weather permitting).

How will the works affect the community/users?

  • Certain areas of the reserve may be temporarily closed to ensure public safety during construction. We will clearly mark these areas and provide alternative pathways whenever possible.
  • Construction activities may generate noise and dust, although we will use appropriate measures to minimise these impacts.
  • Any planned events at the reserve during the construction period may be rescheduled or relocated.

Important points to remember

  • We will provide regular updates on the progress of the project and any associated disruptions through signage, our website and social media channels.
  • We understand that any construction project can cause inconvenience and we apologise for any disruption this may cause. We are committed to minimising the impact on the community while ensuring the successful completion of this important project.
